Mission & Philosophy
North Carolina TASC Network provides an objective and effective bridge between two separate systems:  the justice system and the treatment community.   The TASC Network Model provides community-based programming for individuals who would otherwise burden the justice system with their persistent criminality.

Services
TASC is a specialized community resource agent equipped to work with offenders who are sentenced to Probation and/or who are involved within the criminal justice system.  TASC identifies the offender's needs and matches them with available treatment services within the Area Authority and other community resources.

Other TASC services include, but are not limited to, pre-trial diversion programs, pre-treatment groups, aftercare monitoring services, referrals to support groups (i.e. AA, NA), pilot re-integration projects with the Department of Corrections (IMPACT Aftercare), referrals to Drug Education Schools, and Juvenile TASC initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria
The TASC program will screen and evaluate each client to determine if they are eligible for the TASC Program.  Eligibility is based on the following:

TASC Network Model
This model provides comprehensive wrap-around services through Case Managers who are specially trained to work with the chemically dependent offender.  This is a service which brings agencies and resources together to achieve the desired goal of interrupting the vicious cycle of addiction, criminal activity, and arrest.

TASC Case Managers, with input from the offender, make appropriate referrals and serve as a liaison with other involved agencies.  Offenders referred to TASC need monitoring for compliance with treatment recommendations.  This is accomplished through frequent contact with the offender a well as other involved agencies.

Offender treatment status is reported to the referring agencies.   Communication between agencies if one of the techniques used to assist probation with community safety and offender accountability.  In summary, the TASC Network Model emphasizes direct offender services through a strong community network system.
